Minor Atom AE's win SILVER!
Submitted By Michelle Brown on Sunday, December 8, 2019
This weekend was a very special one for our Minor Atom AE Team!

This group of tough competitors have faced a very challenging season thus far.  Their skill and effort does not match their 1-15-0 record going into this weekends Oshawa Hockey Fest Tournament.

In true, good-sportsman fashion, this squad never gives up, they still shows up every game, hit the ice giving 100% every shift and they have reaped some of the rewards this weekend.

The Minor Atom AE group went to bed last night knowing that their hard work had earned them a spot in the semi finals, bright and early this morning.  After a convincing 5-1 victory, an enthusiastic celebration and a quick rest, they were off to the finals.

They knew that the finals were going to be a challenge as they were facing the hometown favourites, the Oshawa Generals.  These two opened the tournament playing each other, where Oshawa took a lopsided 13-0 win.  The Nighthawks were determined to have a better showing during their second meeting, and they did.  The just fell short, holding the Generals to a 4-0 final score.

Although the Minor Atom AE's were not crowned champions this weekend they most certainly do come home champions to their coaches, their families and to each other!

Hoping that this weekend acts as a catalyst for you all to see the incredible things that you are capable of!  Looking forward to following your season of continued successes!
