NMHA Programming Update
Submitted By Michelle Brown on Thu 12 30, 21
Hoping that this message finds you all well and healthy!

I would like to answer many of the questions that we have been receiving regarding the impacts of the rising Covid numbers and your children participating in hockey.

The NMHA has been fortunate to have been able to continue programming, relatively seamlessly so far this season.  We do have teams with positive cases (players, parents, coaches) but have been able to manage that effectively.

Our Christmas Break has been slowly coming to an end, with practices and games resuming and our intentions are to continue with the schedule as planned.

The Health Unit continues to provide the guidance that we are using to help teams manage positive cases and the information required for families.

Please be mindful that you are continuing to self assess before attending any hockey related activities and air on the side of caution if you are not feeling well.  Mask wearing is mandatory, until players are on the ice and this will be strongly enforced!  If your player, or family members test positive, and have been in contact with their teammates, we ask that you please report this information to our Risk Management Officer.

If your family would prefer to not participate in hockey programming at this time, we support that decision, and just ask that you make your intentions known to your coach.

The NMHA will be following all directives from our local Health Unit, the OMHA and the Province and will keep you all informed of any changes.

In the meantime, enjoy the remainder of your school break, continue to be safe on the ice and stay healthy!
