Good Morning NMHA Families,
We are very excited to welcome back your players to the ice beginning this evening! The decision to proceed with our season after lockdown was one that we carefully deliberated over. We heavily weighed the health and safety of our players with the desire from you all to return to the fun activity that you love and have missed.
In accordance with all Provincial guidelines, those of our local Health Unit, our governing OMHA and Hockey Canada we decided that it was possible to offer our programming in a safe and meaningful way.
With Covid 19, we have learned that everything is fluid, rules and guidelines can change and we must all be flexible and patient.
Our facilities have implemented some changes in accordance with their advisory committees to enhance health and safety for their arenas. We, as an organization have been affected along with all of their user groups. Ultimately, we need to be respectful of the rules and comply.
I truly understand the frustration in not being able to attend one arena, but being allowed at another. Keep in mind that the Jack Burger Sports Complex and the Cobourg Community Centres are in different towns, run by different groups. Both are entitled to make rules that they see as best fitting for their centres and their patrons safety. We will continue to work with and advocate for our families and trust that we have your understanding and patience as users of these facilities.
I want to reiterate how exited we all are to get your boys and girls back on the ice! Their coaches are eager to see them, their teammates are long overdue for this connection and their legs and lungs are craving this outlet of physical fitness!
Thank you for your ongoing support! Should you have questions or need clarification as to the procedures - please be sure to visit our website or reach out to our
Communications Officer; Shannon Drumm as she will be the person that keeps you all in the loop with any changes. If there are any other questions or concerns, I am happy to address them directly.
Many thanks,
Michelle Brown
