Presidents Award 2019-20
Submitted By Bill Woodman on Tue 09 29, 20
This year we celebrate two of the NMHA’s incredible volunteers with our President’s Award: Michelle Brown and Jodi Metcalfe

 Michelle Brown
Michelle has acted as the NMHA’s Communications Officer and has kept us collectively “in the know” since 2016.  She manages both the Nighthawks’ website and Nighthawks’ Facebook page and does an exceptional job keeping our association organized and informed.  Michelle also dedicates countless hours promoting our teams by documenting their community endeavours as well as their on-ice achievements.  Beyond being a valued member of the NMHA Executive, Michelle has demonstrated her commitment to this community in ways that extend outside the rink.  She is always willing to jump in and help and in 2019 she was the driving force behind a very successful fundraiser for a young NMHA player who was battling brain cancer.
Jodi Metcalfe
Jodi has been a fixture around the NMHA for several seasons, beginning in 2016 when she volunteered to be the Atom house league convenor and Select Coordinator. She continued in these roles the following season and then shifted to Midget/Juvenile house league convenor, as well as Select Coordinator for the 2018-19 season.  In 2019-20, Jodi took over as Vice President of House League, in addition to acting as convenor for the Midget/Juvenile house league division. Worried that she might have a few spare minutes, Jodi also took on the responsibility of Tournament Director for the NMHA’s two 2019/20 Justin Williams tournaments, as well as the 2019/20 Shane O’Brien house league tournaments.  Jodi is a strong ambassador for our house league program, often filling many roles to ensure a successful and enjoyable season for all of our hockey families.
