OMHA Co-Champions!
Submitted By Michelle Brown on Fri 05 01, 20
The abrupt cancellation of our 2019/2020 season left two of our OMHA Final competitors without the conclusion that they had been battling for.

As we waited to see when the games would resume, it became clear that the season would be concluding, unfinished.

The OMHA, the local associations, the teams and families were understandably disappointed but very understanding of the circumstances surrounding the decision.

In an attempt to recognize the achievements of all of the teams that earned their place in the finals, it was decided that they would all be named "Co-Champions".  The OMHA, in conjunction with the Egg Farmers of Canada, will be presenting all players from the finalist teams with their much sought after and coveted Red Hats!

The Justin Williams Minor Bantam AE team (Coached by Jamie Bull) and our Cobourg Firefighters Local 1732 Bantam AE team (coached by Ryan Jaynes) are both proudly being honoured with this title.

Both of these teams were set to take on their opponents in the OMHA Finals before their opportunity was cut short.

The NMHA was very proud of the seasons that you both had!  Your hard work, camaraderie, and outstanding efforts on and off the ice were hi-lighted by your year of successes.

Although this is not the way you wanted your hockey season to end, it's not the way you envisioned your championship being recognized, you should take pride as this is still a memorable and very much deserved accomplishment.

CONGRATULATIONS!
