In light of the recent injury sustained by one of our Nighthawks, and the rash of NHL'ers and other hockey players sustaining cut wounds due to skate blades, we want to reinforce our stance on safety.
Player safety is at the forefront of our association! We take our "mandatory" equipment requirements from Hockey Canada and the OMHA and enforce adherence for all of our players.
In addition to the required gear, there are a variety of optional pieces that can be worn to help provide additional layers of protection.
Items such a Cut Resistant socks are available for purchase at all local sporting good stores.
Sommervilles, Play it Again Sports and Pure Edge Pro Shop have all generously offered a discount for all NMHA players. These items do not guarantee against unfortunate injuries from happening, but they certainly offer and extra layer of insurance for our players.
