Remembering Grace
Submitted By Michelle Brown on Wed 03 13, 19
Nighthawks Hockey is all about our families and players sincere love for the game and and our unparalleled community spirit.

Love of hockey and fantastic community togetherness also represent Grace Bowen.

Grace played for the Northumberland Wild girls team, our Nighthawks counterpart.  She was an incredible hockey player, hockey fan and plain and simple - a vibrant young spirit in our community.

Four years ago, sweet Grace passed away after her brave battle with Osteosarcoma.

During her incredible fight, Grace Bowen touched our small community and well beyond.  She was a trooper, a giant bundle of strength in such a small, sweet package.

There is not a day that goes by, that we don't remember Grace.  Her presence is everywhere! Her legacy and the tireless work that her family does on a daily basis to raise funds and awareness for Childhood Cancer is outstanding.

Grace reminds us that by coming together as a community, by rallying around and supporting causes close to our hearts, we are capable of making significant change.

June 8th, 2019 will mark the 4th Annual Grace Bowen Family Fun Day.  This is an event that our community comes out in droves to support. Our Nighthawks are huge participants in the ball hockey tournament, they and their families attend to play in the giant cake walk, eat hot dogs and hamburgers, buy tickets for the incredible raffle table, but most importantly, we all come to remember Grace.

Our Nighthawks have pledged to provide a "Gift Card Tree" to raffle off again this year.  We have asked all of our rep teams to consider donating gift cards. If you would like to make a donation from your team or family, please email me and I will coordinate pick up, I will also be collecting donations at the end of year Hockey Banquet on April 27th.

Many thanks to you all for your continued phenomenal support!

For donations, please email Michelle Brown.
For Ball Hockey Registration, please email Erin Coyle.
