Nighthawks Dances
Submitted By Michelle Brown on Tue 02 12, 19
Effective this season, the NMHA does NOT permit teams to hold fundraising dances.

This type of event is not covered by Hockey Canada/OHF Insurance and both Youth and Adult dances are considered high risk due to issues with under aged drinking, fights and lack of security.

Please note that any dances that you may see advertised as being related to the NMHA or any of its teams or non sanctioned events and not permitted.

I understand that youth dances play an important role in our community, and are successful fundraisers for our teams.  However, that being said, they are in direct contravention to our Parent Organizations rules, specifically our Insurance coverage.

The NMHA is saddened over the fact that we must enforce this change as we know how well received  and fun that Youth Dances are for our players.  Ultimately, our players safety is paramount, and ensuring that all sanctioned NMHA events are fully insured is non negotiable.

I expect that this news will spark much discussion, and I am happy to help direct you to where you can send your comments, but please know that inappropriately sharing your upset will not result in any positive changes.
