Christmas Spirit is EVERYWHERE!
Submitted By Michelle Brown on Wed 12 12, 18
'Tis the season for giving and so many of our teams have jumped on board and done a variety of different things to give back to our community.

A big shout out to our Bantam AA kids who held their own food drive, then spent an evening with the Salvation Army packing up boxes for the hospital, nursing homes and local families to receive over the holiday season.

Our Minor Bantam AA group also held a food drive at the CCC and did their part to get the word out to collect donations to support our local Food 4 All.

Our Atom AE team will be attending Legion Village next week to have a festive visit with the residents and then they will stay to help serve them dinner.

A special mention must be made to our Peewee AE team.  This group has gone above and beyond this season with their very caring and charitable ways. The group cleaned out their personal closets, teamed up with Holton Flowers and spent an evening sorting through donated clothing.  All of these items have been shipped and are bound for our Northern community friends.

They also held a team
fundraiser and graciously donated $350 of the proceeds to support a way to give back to our community. They took their money and decided to purchase toys for the fire hall, do shopping for the food bank and for seniors. They also bought cookies and chocolates so that they could bring gifts to a group of seniors next week when they go to play Bingo with them.

This was such a great opportunity for these young kids to participate first
hand in being generous members of our community.

We are very proud of all of our teams, and all of the outstanding things that they are doing.

The Northumberland Nighthawks is an organization that prides itself on developing fantastic hockey players, but above that, we strive to help give kids opportunities to become good community members - and these kids do not disappoint!
