Yesterday, while many of of us were busy racing around with the hustle and bustle of the fast approaching holidays, the Atom AE Nighthawks were busy doing something just a little bit different.
The Atom AE teams needs to be applauded for their tremendous efforts this weekend!
They organized and hosted their own food drive at Fisher's Foodland this Saturday from 3-6pm, with hopes of filling a cargo van. At the end of the day they very successfully collected
650 lbs of food and $126 - all of which will be generously donated to the local Salvation Army.
This young group of Nighthawks players are no strangers to giving back to the community, as this is the second year that they have collected on behalf of the Salvation Army at Christmas time.
Coach Eric Thompson "believes that it is important to teach the children that it is always a good thing to give back to the community that will always support them."
Well done Nighthawks, your generous spirit and love that you have for our community makes our whole organization very proud of you all!
