Peewee AA International Silver Stick Finalists
The Northumberland Nighthawks Railside Peewee AA team has reason to celebrate after an outstanding 4 days in Port Huron, Michigan at the International Silver Stick Finals.

The team made their way to Port Huron, Michigan on January 26th to compete in the International Silver Stick tournament after qualifying earlier in Pembroke.

They faced some very tough competition, playing the USA Eagles, the Howard Huskies and the Yale Jr Bulldogs in Round Robin play, but with effort and determination the team rose to the occasion and went undefeated.

The team then went on to beat out the Long Island Edge during the quarterfinals and met the Hamilton Huskies during the semis where they won in a very tight battle.

The finals were a game that all of the players, coaches and families will remember for quite some time.  The McMorran Main arena was ready to acknowledge the achievements of these finalists with fireworks, strobe lighting and a Silver Stick entrance tunnel for each of the players to make their way onto the ice through, while their names and numbers were announced to the cheering crowd.

The boys played 3 hard periods but unfortunately fell just short to the Vaughan Rangers in an intense and exciting game.

Congratulations to the entire team: Spencer Eriksson, Connor Gilligan, Hayden Odurny, Clayton Clark, Bailey Pipe, Zach Dewar, Rhett Cleverdon, Easton Adamson, Hayden Howe, Connor Patrick, Brayden Burge, Nick Moore, Emmanuel Barrie, Oscar Brown, Kyle Ramsperger, Owen Beck and Noah Richard and Coaching Staff; Mike Cleverdon, Wes Eriksson, Greg Bowen and Jason Brown.

A special recognition should be made to Assistant Captain, Owen Beck for being named to the Silver Stick All Star team and also receiving the Scotty Nichols Award (Pee Wee AA MVP) for the tournament.

Making it to Silver Stick, competing as hard as you did, and going undefeated all the way to the finals is an impressive achievement and you should all be very proud of yourselves!

Here is to a successful playoff run!
