House League Convenors NEEDED for U7 & U9
NMHA is in need of House League Convenors for U7 and U9 divisions. You don’t have to have a player on the ice with us, in these divisions, in order to volunteer for this role. You just need a passion for helping out, some basic computer and organizational skills and understanding of hockey.
What is the role of a Convenor you ask?
House League Convenors are mainly responsible for communication (acting as a liaison) between the coaches and parents of the division, with the assistance of a House League Officer. You will be responsible to coordinate evaluation skates, compiling teams (re-balancing if needed) and keeping parents up to date about important upcoming events (ie. picture day, year-end banquet, breaks in the schedule or scheduling changes, etc) throughout the season. Your main role is to take all the “admin” work out of the hands of coaches while keeping division parents informed, so that the bench staff may focus on developing and coaching the players on the ice.
If you are comfortable on a computer and have a just a 1-2 hours a week to spare (not every week), along with an understanding of hockey and interest in hockey management, please reach out to House League Officer, Chris Edick (email: [email protected])
Why Volunteer?
Volunteers are the lifeblood of any hockey organization. You will be rewarded by connecting with this amazing community of hockey parents and players while building a sense of pride and fulfillment knowing you’ve helped kids in the Northumberland community “live the dream” playing Canada’s most beloved sport. The memories of playing childhood sports stay with you for a lifetime.
