Thanking Lifetime Association Member Ken Petrie
Submitted By Shannon Drumm on Fri 04 21, 23
It is with a heavy heart that we say goodbye to a long time association member, both CCHL and NMHA, volunteer and hockey enthusiast,  Ken Petrie.

Ken played a significant role in the youth hockey community throughout his 50 years of volunteerism - from coaching, managing, training and fundraising.

Those that knew Ken well never had a problem helping him out as Ken would never ask you to do anything that he wouldn't do himself.

Ken was President of the CCHL for a record 11 years and often referred to as "the driving force of the Association".

Ken Petrie lived the CCHL moto " Dedicated to Youth" to a tee.

When the CCHL amalgamated, Ken still resided as an executive member of the NMHA.

Ken has been recognized with many plaques, certificates and awards over the years, having been inducted into the Sports Hall of Fame, located in the Cobourg Community Centre, in 2020.

Ken Petrie was a very special volunteer and true sportsman and will be sadly missed by the community and those that had the fortune of knowing him. The Northumberland Minor Hockey Association would like to thank the Petrie family for their continuous generosity in Ken's honour - as per Ken's wishes, all donations made in his honour are to be donated to the NMHA or Cobourg Softball.
