Players can be selected to be on a team or released by the Head Coach after 1 tryout session. If a player is selected, Parents will be notified of this as the guaranteed spot has a limited time offer to accept. An email will be sent to the parents with a link to register with the Northumberland Nighthawks. This also be used as the players commitment to play with the Northumberland Nighthawks.
SPECIAL NOTE for U18 (2008, 2009 players) - Yes we are doing Spring tryouts for this Division for the 2025/26 season. This is not our usual practice as many players like to exercise their chance to participate in Jr Camps in our area during the spring/summer. The NMHA felt we had to hold Spring tryouts to remain competitive in the U18 Division as many centres around us are holding Spring Tryouts. Players are asked to attend tryouts (complete the Tryout registration for $100). IF selected to be on one of our U18 teams the player can accept and still participate in JR Camps. Coaches will want to have open honest conversations with the players and them playing where they wish to be. One thing to note if your son considering JR vs U18 minor hockey - JR hockey they cannot participate in High School hockey. By staying in Minor hockey, they still AP to a JR team, play high school hockey and enjoy tournaments with their Nighthawk team as well.
