Most Improved Player Peewee Division and Down
Ron’s early playing days were spent in Port Hope before earning a position on the blue line for the Cobourg Cougars in the OHA. From there, Ron’s career span another 4 years, ending with the Cornwall Royals where he captured a Memorial Cup in 1972. The New York Islanders selected Ron 49th overall in the 1972 NHL Draft. Smith retired from professional hockey in 1977.
