Thinking about attending tryouts for next season? Northumberland Minor Hockey Association is offering Prep Skates for all ages U8-U18 and body checking clinics for players entering body checking for the first time.
Prep Skates & Checking Clinic spaces are an extension of the 2025-26 season. They are only available to any current season (registered) players in NMHA who are interested in trying out for representative hockey, AA and below. Clinics are capped at 24 participants per group. Waiting lists are being offered.
NOTE: on the NMHA calendar, prep skates appear as "MD" or "AA" skates, but are available to ALL players, of all levels, who played NMHA this season. You can disregard the AA and MD designations.
PREP SKATES:
Cost - $60 for 4 sessions.
Prep skates are sold as a package and not by individual sessions. No refunds will be issued once payment has been received. Payment must be received to secure your spot.

Goalies (4 Maximum per division must register and there is no charge as there will be no on-ice goaltending instruction)
BODY CHECKING CLINICS:
Body Checking Clinics are required for any member wishing to tryout for a U14 Rep team (or if you have never participated in Rep hockey with body contact).
A participant must have completed three hours of body checking instruction to be eligible to participate in tryout exhibition games. Registration in this clinic or a certificate from the instructor must be provided.
Body Checking Clinics are sold as a package and not individual sessions. This Clinic is free of charge this season. Each clinic is capped at 14 participants, with up to 3 groups (total of 42 participants).
