The Nighthawks U15 Select Team played in the Quinte West Highway of Heroes Tournament over the past three days.
They finished the round robin with three straight wins. Heading into the semi-finals the rain/sleet/snow didn't put a damper on their momentum as they fought through a tight win against the Napanee Stars; winning, not in regulation, not in overtime (4 on 4) but in a shootout! Jacob North and Colton Cork were the shootout heroes.
They started the final game against the Centre Hastings Grizzlies falling behind 3-0, but clawed their way back to being down just 4-3 going into the third period. They played hard but couldn't quite cash in the win, losing narrowly by a score of 5-4. The entire team made the coaches, parents and fans proud as they showed determination and sportsmanship throughout the tournament.
Congratulations on your tournament success!
