New NMHA Board now in Place for 2025/26 Season
On Thursday, May 15, 2025, the Annual General Meeting (AGM) took place and saw the first ever election for our new Board of Directors.

In the past, the league had a position of President and several Vice-Presidents that oversaw the organization.

Now the new structure, that was voted on at a special meeting in March, sees these positions dissolved and a new Board of seven (7) voting Directors, of which one is the Treasurer, and the eighth Board seat (non-voting) will be held by the past President (going forward to be known as the outgoing Chair).

The election results for the new Board of Directors were as follows:
Trenholm Parker (as Chair), Chad Munday (as Treasurer), David Battersby, Eric Fraser, Jennifer Lynn, Kelly Nicholas and Mike Jones.

In addition, the attendees were introduced to the new Executive Director, Brad Turner, who will work closely with the Board. Watch the NMHA website for a full bio, in the near future.

The financial position of the League was presented by the O’Keefe Accounting Group, who completed audits covering the past five (5) years of financial transactions. As Bylaws now stipulate, prepared financial statements will continue to be an agenda item at all AGMs going forward.

Finally, outgoing President, Jodi Metcalfe, who will sit on the 2025-26 Board in a non-voting position, was presented with flowers and words of thanks for all of her “blood, sweat and tears” working on behalf of the league. “It’s all for the kids” was Jodi’s mantra during her two terms serving our hockey community. Thank you to Jodi and all of the outgoing Vice-Presidents who will hopefully consider serving the league in possible Officer roles.

The Board is working on planning and implementing the new structure and will be looking for more volunteers. We appreciate your patience and understanding as we turn a new page on how the league will look, feel and operate this season and moving forward. More updates to follow.
