That's a Wrap on the 2024/25 Season for all our Rep teams. Earlier in March we held a Player appreciation Night for our 2007 AA and A Nighthawks. The players, a couple of the coaches as well as the families received a little extra attention and recognition as the last playoff game of Round 1 was played on home ice in as a Nighthawks.
It is most certainly a bittersweet moment realizing that the days of rushing meals, packing the hockey bag, taping sticks and making sure nothing is forgotten before heading out to the arena have come to an end.
It's a way of life for everyone that loves the game of hockey as hockey parents will do just about anything anything to support their talented minor hockey player. It's also a big part of our social circle as we spend so much time together from Sept to March every season.
I'm not going to lie there were some tears when I watch my youngest son play in his final game as a Nighthawk and I know first hand that there were others just like me. Celebrate the wins, learn of the losses and just enjoy watching the kids have fun doing something they love to do - play hockey!
The NMHA would like to send our thanks to the dedicated coaches and parents of all the 2007 players. Your efforts of supporting these boys over their 14 yr minor hockey career are just as noticeable now as when they first started their hockey journey.
Congratulations are also in order for our U18AA Nighthawks who were Lakeshore Finalists for the 2024/25 season and also went 2-1-0 at the OMHA Championship in the Round Robin. Semi Final game was a very tough 4-3 loss to Oakville when they scored the winning goal in the tied game with 2 sec left in the 3rd period.
