Details:
Who: Team’s Coach registers four skates and a single goalie to participate in the skills competition. All four skates will participate in Puck Control Relay.
What: Come have your team’s talent shown off in the Select Skills Competition.
Where: Cobourg Community Center - Pond
When: Saturday March 18th, 2023, from 3:30pm until 5:00pm
Order: U9, U13, U11 

Coach must register their team's skaters and goalie by 12pm on Saturday March 18th 2023 in the Tournament Room at the Cobourg Community Center.

Events:

Defense Skating Challenge

The purpose of the event is for the player to complete a backwards obstacle course with the fastest time.

Accuracy Shooting

The purpose of the event is to hit the four targets attached to the four corners of a goal in the shortest amount of time. Each participant is given 2 minutes to hit the targets. Fastest time moves on to the next round until a single winner is found.

Fastest Skater

The purpose of the event is to be fastest skater around a single lap of the rink. Shortest time taken is declared winner.

Break Away Challenge

The purpose of the event is score the most amount of  break aways. Each player will receive three chances to score.

Save Streak

The purpose of the event is to reward the goalie with the most saves during the Break Away Challenge. Each goalie will get at MINIMUM three shots. Round one will see each goalie once afterwards number of saves in round one will determine if a goalie moves on.

Puck Control Relay

The purpose of the event is to be fastest skater over the course while also maintaining control of the puck through a series of pylons and shots. Four players line up at their stations were the first station begins with the start of the clock. Note: each skill must be completed before the puck can be passed along on to the next station.

1. Stickhandling: Each skater must control the puck through a series of eight cones.
2. Cone Control: Each skater with a puck must skate through a series of eight cones.
3. Starts and Stops: Each skater must start and stop with the puck at a series of eight cones.
4. Shooting: As a skater approaches each gate, they must shoot the puck into the mini net.
Fastest time will be declared the winner.
