JAMBOREE RULES AND REGULATIONS
-
This is an OMHA sanctioned Jamboree. Sanction # 12115. All OMHA rules apply.
-
By entering this Jamboree, the coach or manager, on behalf of their team, releases the Northumberland Minor Hockey Association (NMHA), The Northumberland New Years Jamboree committee and all officials, referees, sponsors, volunteers, arena management and all concerned with the tournament from any liability or accident which may be incurred by any player or team official while participating in coming to or going from the tournament.
-
Coaches/Managers must submit a team roster and travel permit 30 days prior (November 29th, 2023) to the start of the Jamboree.
-
A member of the coaching staff/team manager must report to the Jamboree Office, located on the second floor on the POND side of the Cobourg Community Centre (CCC) prior to their first game, and 30 minutes prior to subsequent games to complete a participant list before each game (see Appendix B).
-
The participant’s list must include the name and number of each player, as well as all Team Officials who will be participating in the game. Only those players and coaches on the team’s approved roster are eligible to participate.
-
Each OMHA team must have a carded trainer present.
-
U7 games will be played on the POND side of the CCC.
-
U8 HL/LL games will be played at Baltimore Recreation Centre Arena and BOWL side of the CCC.
-
U8 MD games will be played on the POND side of the CCC and Baltimore Recreation Centre Arena.
-
Ice pads will be split up into “A” Pad (closest to the Zamboni doors) and “B” Pad (closest to entrance doors).
-
Each team should be able to carry two sets of jerseys. In the event of a colour conflict, the designated ‘home’ team will change jerseys.
-
Each team is guaranteed a minimum of three (3) games.
-
As teams will be sharing dressing rooms, players are asked to quickly dress after they are off the ice to allow for the next teams to occupy the room.
-
Jamboree games are to be played on modified ice format (see Appendix A).
-
Both games on each pad will start at the same time so one clock is used to manage the time of the game.
-
Game times are 44 minutes in length; two 22-minute “run-time” periods. Shift length will be on a timed buzzer, every two (2) minutes.
-
Only rostered and approved Team Officials are permitted on the ice.
-
The lightweight (4 oz.) blue puck will be used for all games. Pucks will be provided by the Jamboree Committee.
-
Dividers will be used to divide the ice surface.
-
Small/modified or regulation size nets will be used for all games.
-
Games will be a 4v4 format (not including goaltenders). In the event a team does not have a goalie present, the net will remain empty and a 5th skater may be added. For safety reasons, no player shall occupy the net without necessary equipment.
-
Face-offs only occur at the start of the game and periods. After a goal, the scoring team must retreat to the vicinity of their net and cannot pressure until the attacking team reaches half ice.
-
No scoring, standings, or statistics will be recorded.
-
No penalties, offsides, or icings are to be called. However, if a player acts unruly, they may be asked to leave the playing surface for a shift or the remainder of the game.
-
There will a one minute warm up prior to each game.
-
There will be a one minute break between periods.
-
There are no time-outs
-
Players benches and ice surfaces are to be strictly used by bench staff and players that appear on the submitted rosters only. Parents, fans and all other attendees are prohibited from accessing these areas.
