Game Cancellations
Of course Mother Nature is about to hit us hard - she always does during Playdowns!

No need to panic!  Your Team Managers and Coaches will decide what the best course of action is regarding safety and travel.  SAFETY is always FIRST!

Once the official call has been made - an alert will be posted to our website called "Game Cancellations".

If you are unsure, please contact YOUR team manager prior to heading out.

I am including the excerpt from our Managers Manual with regards to Game Cancellations so that the "behind the scenes" process is a little more clear for everyone.

Stay safe AND enjoy the snow!

There is really only one reason for a game to be cancelled: WEATHER! Games will be re-scheduled if the weather is bad and the visiting team feels that they cannot safely drive to the game. The Ice scheduler does not make that decision for the team; it is up to the visiting coaching staff to make the decision. Once the decision has been made not to travel to a game, then you must inform the NMHA Ice Scheduler who will inform the other centre’s ice scheduler, who will advise their team and the Refs. Provide enough time to inform the other centre, please do not call the NMHA Ice scheduler 10 minutes before the game is scheduled to start, you must provide 4 hours notice if possible. If the weather cancellation is during a Playdown/Playoff series you move on to the next game and the rescheduled game is typically added to the end of the series unless otherwise indicated by the ice scheduler. A new "Contract" will be sent to the team from the ice scheduler with the changes.
