Northumberland Minor Midgets tie Ajax
Northumberland Nighthawks Minor Midgets started the Kawartha Lakes Tournament with a 1-1 tie against the Ajax Knights. Northumberland was lead by the strong goaltending of game MVP Jeremy MacDonald. After an early goal against, Jeremy closed the door on Ajax giving his team the chance to get back in the game.
Northumberland evened up the game early in the second on a rush that ended in Austin Gilmour scoring with a wrist shot from the high slot area. From that point on the boy's in blue slowly started to take over the momentum in the game and though they couldn't get that next goal, they game themselves many chances.
The Nighthawks are back in action later today at 6:35 against the Burlington Eagles.
