Saying Goodbye to Cormac #17
Tomorrow we say our goodbyes to our friend; Cormac Kerin.

There will be a private celebration of his life at the Ross Funeral Chapel, followed by a Mass at Our Lady of Mercy Catholic Church, Port Hope. His burial will follow at the St. Mary’s Roman Catholic Cemetery.

The Northumberland Nighthawks are invited to show their support for their fellow teammate, by lining the route (details to follow), wearing their jerseys, and coming together with one another.

The service can also be viewed on Cormac’s page at www.rossfuneralchapel.com

I also want to let you all know that this evening at 7:00pmSean Brandow, the Chaplain for the Humbolt Broncos, along with Ben Mills, Chaplain for the Port Hope Panthers and Tony Posthumous, Chaplain for the Cobourg Cougars will be hosting a Zoom Chat for all of our players, families and coaches.  These gentlemen have graciously offered to share their wisdom and support with our entire Nighthawks family as we all are continuing to navigate our grief.

If you have not received the Zoom information from your coach yet and would like to participate, please reach out.

I can't begin to tell you how extremely proud I am of you all.  Losing our player, knowing that his little sister is still fighting a giant battle, while his family is suffering, is a tremendous amount of pain to carry.  You all have rallied together, you have cried together and you have supported each other.  I am in awe of your strength.

You lit up our community with your "Sticks out for Cormac" and you will honour your friend and teammate tomorrow in ways that should make you all feel very proud of yourselves.  This is difficult, it is unbelievably sad and it is so very tragic.

You are all kind, thoughtful and quite remarkable people. Continue to lean on each other, keep talking about your friend Cormac, sharing stories and always keep the Kerin family and all who have been affected by this tragedy in your prayers.

With lots of love.
