Community Teamwork
The Northumberland Nighthawks Minor Peewee AA team visited the home of The Ontario Regiment (RCAC) Tank Museum this morning for a very special event in support of its community and for the love of sport.

The team collected pledges from friends, family and community over the past month for the "Challenge" of coming together as a team to pull a tank, tug of war style. This effort was aimed at generating support for another local hockey club - The Northumberland Bulldogs, special needs hockey program.

Pulling a 12 ton vehicle is clearly not something that any one of these players could do on their own, but would require significant teamwork!!!

The Bulldogs also joined us for the second half of the pull - the smiles on the teams faces as they worked together, were really the indicator of a successful event...Both teams then played a friendly and spirited game of soccer in the field near the Museum. Before they shared a well deserved lunch together.

In the end, the Minor Peewee AA Nighthawks players managed to raise $2,000.00 for the Bulldogs!Everyone in this life has different opportunities, special skills, challenges and sometimes limitations...The measure of athletes who love this game of hockey find a way to play, to compete - for the love of the game...Thanks for joining us today

Bulldogs!Go Nighthawks, and Bulldogs Go!!
