Remembrance Day
This Remembrance Day, was a very special Remembrance Day. It marked 100 years since the end of WW1 and people across the world commemorated the sacrifices that were made for all of us.  At 11am, we all quietly paid our respects in silence.

Over the weekend, several of our teams took the opportunity to show their support for our Veterans, acknowledge them, honour them and give back to our community.

Our youngest team, the Development 7 boys and girls, all proudly wore poppies during their Sunday afternoon game, along with several other teams who donned them on their helmets.

Friday evening, our Lorenz and Son Atom A team recognized two dads; Ryan Donovan and Derek Munore from their team.  Both of these men have bravely served our country, and took time to speak with the team about team work and having a "warrior" spirit.  Prior to puck drop, they, along with their opponents, and the entire arena stood silent while the trumpets played and everyone paid their respects.

Our Cobourg Firefighters, Local 1732 Midget A team, spent their Sunday evening at the Legion.  The boys assisted members, set tables, served food, cleaned up and just chatted with those in attendance for the Legions most important dinner of the year.  They received a standing ovation from the Legion members and an extra round of applause when they donated their "tip" money back to the Legions Poppy Fund.

Remembrance Day is an extra special day that reminds us of how privileged we are to live in such a great country and to have the incredible freedoms that we do.  We honour those who have sacrificed for all that we are blessed to have and we thank those who continue to fight for our freedoms.

As a community organization, it is always a very proud moment when our coaches, who we trust to lead our youth, get their teams involved and provide them with meaningful opportunities.  These are memories that will remain with these players for years to come, and lasting impressions that will stay with our community.

You should all be very proud of yourselves.
