Nighthawks Pride
Canada Day marked the Nighthawks first community event of the 2018/2019 season.

Sunday afternoon, several of our Nighthawk families joined together to participate in the Canada Day Parade in downtown Cobourg.  Despite the scorching heat, our players and brave parents sat atop the float as they proudly made their way down King Street, waving and sending well wishes to the onlookers.

As an organization, our primary goal is to provide our players with an opportunity to have fun on and off the ice, and to encourage community minded involvement.  There was no better way for this group of different players, from different teams, and different leagues to come together, stand behind their neatly hung Nighthawk jerseys and show their Canadian Hockey Pride to our community - well done!

Many thanks to the parents who came together to help our Events Coordinator to organize and recruit participants, decorate the float, and for keeping the kids supervised and hydrated!

A very special thank you to National Shunt Services Limited for generously donating their truck and for coordinating retired Police Officer, Delkie Curtis to drive us along the parade route.  Not only did NSSL provide us with the vehicle, they retrofitted the flatbed so that the players could safely stand and wave their flags to the onlookers.  THANK YOU SO MUCH!
